What I Wore on Thursday, March 17, 2016

Posted 3/20/2016

On St. Patrick's Day this year, I wore this really fun 1950/1960s woman's bowling shirt that my husband, Steve, found for me on eBay.

Bowling shirts are box cut shirts, with contrasting colors, butto-up fronts, & a pocket.  According to the site, "History of Bowling Shirts", classic bowling shirts are never patterned in anything but solid colors with solid lines as accent.  The site also noted that the Woman's Bowling League began in 1917.

I presume the shirt belonged to a bowler named Agnes.  I adore bowling shirts, especially from the 1950s & 1960s.  This is at least my 5th or 6th bowling shirt!

With this fun shirt, I wore a necklace I made last fall out of buffalo teeth & bone beads.

I found the buffalo teeth at the fall Lapidary Show here in Des Moines.  I really liked their color & shape.  I thought the necklace added a nice accent to the block color pattern of the bowling shirt.
